Description

ARK... is not a great Arkanoid clone, but it was made in 1989 so we'll cut the author some slack because it does have some good qualities. It looks decent enough, even though the animation is a bit flickery and choppy. It also features mouse control which is pretty good for an 80's shareware game. Ark is a DOS-based adventure and strategy game where players are tasked with surviving and managing a group of people who have survived a catastrophic event. The game takes place on an ark, which is a large, floating sanctuary designed to protect the survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. As the leader, your job is to oversee resources, make important decisions, and ensure the survival of the ark's inhabitants while navigating challenges like resource scarcity, dangerous threats, and environmental hazards. Features: Survival and Resource Management: Manage resources like food, water, and energy to ensure the survival of the survivors on the ark. Carefully balance production and consumption to avoid running out of essentials. Strategic Decision-Making: Make important decisions that will impact the ark's future, including how to allocate resources, where to explore, and how to handle internal conflicts. Exploration and Discovery: Explore the vast ocean and nearby islands for new resources, encounters, and mysteries to uncover. Each expedition can bring new challenges or rewards. Building and Upgrades: Expand and upgrade the ark to increase its capacity and resilience. Construct essential structures like farms, workshops, and living quarters to keep the survivors healthy and productive. Survival Threats: Face dangers like storms, hostile creatures, disease outbreaks, and internal conflicts that can threaten the survival of your group. Retro Graphics: The game features classic pixel-art graphics and simple animations, evoking the style of '90s DOS games with a focus on functionality over flashy visuals.
